Supervisor, Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities
Assignment Type: Permanent
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or business discipline. Five or more years of related engineering experience with 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role preferred. Strong background in precision machining and grinding required
Responsibilities
- Supervise engineers responsible for establishing economical and effective manufacturing methods for the production of a wide variety of investment castings.
- Responsible for cost reduction and for reduction of scrap controlled by the way in which the manufacturing process is applied.
- Establish process methods and standards to meet customer and company requirements
- Interface with customer personnel in support of efforts to obtain new business and create new markets.
- Assure the effective interface between subordinates and their co-workers in quality, manufacturing, and customer service. Teamwork is an essential element in their performance and essential to the team’s success.
- Conduct performance appraisals of subordinates, utilize the appraisal process to achieve continuous growth in their capabilities and contributions.
- Direct the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, buildings and grounds.
- Responsible for the supervision, guidance and direction of all maintenance and custodial personnel.
- Responsible for the planning, engineering, design, budgeting and construction of redesigned and relocated processes.
- Responsible for environmental compliance within the facility, including hazardous waste management, storage and shipment.
- Ensure compliance with all government and company regulations regarding plant equipment.
- Review of equipment and cells to improve throughput, ergonomics and safety.
Additional Info
- Develop and train personnel to improve technical skills. Supervise and assist subordinates in planning new program startups, meeting defined schedules, and achieving production cost and yield targets.
- Prepare and maintain all related files, records, reports, part prints and statistics in useable form for processing, estimating and other purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to participate in cost saving activities including, Safety Initiatives, 6-S Initiatives, Kaizen Events and/or Overall Productivity Improvement Events
- Ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with the Company’s Code of Conduct.
- Must maintain State Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certification.
- Maintain all required contacts to keep abreast of developments in production engineering and make recommendations as to adoption of feasible items.
- Contribute to key technical decisions and technology/product planning. Maintain knowledge in current and/or new engineering methods and developments affecting the organization.
